Police: shooting victim may have been dealer
The 26-year-old man found shot to death at Sun Village Apartments was a suspected drug dealer, according to a District Court search warrant.
The warrant, filed Wednesday, says Robert Michael Blume, who recently changed his name from Robert Rajkovic, often received calls for drug sales.
He was shot to death around 3:15 a.m. May 17 in the parking lot at 801 Locust Place N.E. Just before that, Blume's girlfriend told Albuquerque police, he received a call, then told her he needed money for cigarettes.
According to the warrant, she told Blume there were cigarettes in her car.
Soon after, she told police she heard four gunshots outside the apartment. She and her neighbors found Blume on the ground. He died at the scene.
The girlfriend found the cigarettes missing from her car, along with a gun she kept there. The gun was found nearby, according to the warrant.
Police are using Blume's cell phone to try to locate the person who was with him before he was killed, according to the warrant.
